It is with sadness that I share the news that Martin Y. Iguchi passed away on June 5, 2021 after a lengthy illness. Martin was a member and Fellow of the Society of Addiction Psychology, a long-time member of the Finance Committee, and he served as a member of the Board of Directors. He was a recipient of the APA Presidential Citation (2019) and was an elected member of APA's Board of Scientific Affairs and Board of Professional Affairs. He was also a member and served on the Board of Directors of the College on Problems of Drug Dependence. He was co-chair of the Scientific Working Group on MSM and Sexual Minorities. Notably, his focus on race, racism, and contact with the criminal legal system has helped to advance the recognition of these structural factors in behavioral science research. At the time of his death he was Senior Behavioral Scientist at the RAND Corporation and Director of Redesign for the Pardee RAND Graduate School of Public Affairs. Martin will be greatly missed by all of his friends and colleagues.
In keeping with his wishes, his family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the RAND Center to Advance Racial Equity Policy; a direct link has been set up at www.rand.org/iguchi.
