This 6-week online course will focus on the core principles and practices of Integrative Harm Reduction Psychotherapy (IHRP) along with the 7 Therapeutic Tasks of IHRP.  IHRP represents a paradigm shift in addiction treatment that extends the reach of traditional, abstinence-only approaches toward one based on a psychosocial process model for understanding addictive behaviors.  IHRP incorporates relational psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, and trauma-informed practices to address the spectrum of addictive behaviors and mental health issues.

Participants will gain practical skills that can be immediately applied in their work along with a deeper understanding of the theoretical framework supporting a harm reduction approach.

This course provides 15 hours of continuing education for social workers in NY.
