Description: The COVID-19 pandemic has illuminated long-standing challenges with access to treatment and recovery support services for individuals with substance use disorder. Digital, online recovery support services have the potential both to supplement in-person services and to serve as standalone options for those unable to access traditional care. In this talk, Dr. Brandon Bergman will describe different types of digital recovery support services and a typology to classify them, outline what is known empirically about participation in these services, and recommend referral strategies to maximize benefits and mitigate risks.
